One thing I know for sure: I am in control of my own happiness. The resurrection of this blog is part of that. My goal is to quiet the word beast in my mind but also to share information that may be of value to women–mothers, wives, friends, sisters.
I am a Black American Muslim woman in an intercultural marriage. My husband is Senegalese, so our children are truly African American. Our daughter is 7, and our son is 5. We do everything we can to encourage the development of their identities. It’s our job to coax out their confidence and potential.
This blog is for women who want to have whole marriages, whole children, whole selves. For women who value themselves beyond their bodies, for women who want to raise strong daughters and considerate sons. For women who want internal and external peace. For women who think critically and deeply. For women who often do things the hard way because the easy way lacks benefit. For women who make their on hair products and drink green smoothies. For women who read ingredient labels incessantly and are quick to whip up a homemade elixir when someone in the house is coming down with something… or just for anyone who wants to see what I’m talking ’bout.
